How it started

My entrepreneurial journey began in 2014 when Danielle and I embarked on a venture that would eventually become known as June Home Supply. This online store was born out of our passion for sourcing and curating beautiful home goods from around the world and delivering them to customers across North America. While Danielle focused on product selection, I delved into the intricacies of managing the business.

Our journey had humble beginnings, with a slow start that led me to make a pivotal decision in 2017 – I left my job as a restaurant chef to commit full-time to our growing company. Our early operations consisted of packing orders in our basement and lugging parcels to the local post office, often relying on our son's trusty wagon.

As the business gained momentum, we expanded into a studio space to accommodate more inventory and facilitate product photography.

This growth eventually culminated in the opening of a physical storefront in Winnipeg, all while continuing to serve online customers across Canada and the US.

The next phase of expansion led us to partner with a 3PL warehouse for storage and fulfillment, allowing us to focus on nurturing our brand.

In early 2023, after nearly nine years of dedicated entrepreneurship, we achieved a significant milestone when the company was acquired by an entrepreneur based in the US. This moment was the realization of my entrepreneurial dream – not just to start and run a business but to successfully exit it, entirely on my terms.

The journey also reinforced my unwavering love for business, the thrill of problem-solving, and the belief that with hard work and dedication, there are no limits to what one can achieve. It's a belief I hold dear, cliché or not.
